Koenig & Clinton seeks a dedicated gallery manager to begin a full-time, permanent position by mid-August. Candidates should display a high level of motivation, ability to effectively prioritize tasks, excellent organizational skills, and basic knowledge of the gallery and museum worlds.
A qualified candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in contemporary art, in the gallery’s mission, as well as a desire to contribute their best work within an interdependent team. Applicants should have a strong administrative background, preferably in fine arts or in a related field. Preference will go to candidates with at least two years of full-time experience in an art, design, or architecture. The ideal candidate works as well independently as they do within a team.
This position requires regular gallery attendance on select days during regular hours of operation (Tuesday through Saturday, 10AM to 6PM in the fall and winter, and Monday through Friday 10AM to 6PM in the summer). All team members work occasional nights for gallery-hosted events. The hours of this position can be made flexible to accommodate personal commitments or family schedules. Bachelor’s degree required, as well as two to three years of administrative experience and project management experience. Precise attention to detail and effective communication skills are key to the position, as the gallery associate interacts regularly with visitors, staff, collectors, vendors, and artists.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Lightbox, Artsy, ArtLogic, ArtBinder, Asana, and database experience is strongly preferred. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience. Please submit a one-page cover letter with one-page résumé. Résumé should include contact details for two professional references. Please email both documents in PDF format to info(at)koenigandclinton(dot)com, with “re: gallery manager” in the subject line of the email. No phone calls please.
