NICOLE MILLER
Nicole Miller (b. 1982, Tucson) received her M.F.A. from the Roski School of the Arts, University of Southern California, Los Angeles. Solo exhibitions of her work include: Artists’ Film International: Nicole Miller, Ballroom Marfa; The Conductor, High Line Channel 22, New York City; Believing is Seeing, Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Death of a School, Centre d’Art Contemporain, Geneve; and The Conductor, LAXART, Los Angeles. Miller has also participated in prominent group exhibitions such as: Made in L.A. biennial, Hammer Museum, Los Angeles (2012); Dallas Biennale, Dallas Contemporary (2012); and The Bearden Project, Studio Museum in Harlem (2011). Her work is represented in public collections including The Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, among others. Miller has been the recipient of various grants, including: the Rema Hort Mann Foundation Grant (2013); the Artadia Award (2013); and the Louis Comfort Tiffany Biennial Award (2012). The artist lives and works in Los Angeles.
ULRICH RÜCKRIEM
Ulrich Rückriem (b.1938, Düsseldorf) spent the early years of his career as a stonemason at Cologne Cathedral from 1959-1961, the influence of which is manifest in his sculptural practice. His subsequent work is characterized by geometric forms and a rational and systematic concept of structure; his insistence on making intelligible all traces of his intervention with the material makes him an important figure in establishing Process art as a response to Minimalism. Notable solo exhibitions of Rückriem’s work include presentations at Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin (2009); Sprengel Museum, Hannover (2007); Museum Ludwig, Köln (2007); Kunsthalle Hamburg (2005); Gemeentemuseum Den Haag (2003); Palacio de Cristal, Reina Sofia, Madrid (1989); and Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris (1983). Rückriem’s work has been included in numerous group exhibitions including KölnSkulptur #6, Skulpturenpark, Cologne; Documenta, Kassel (1992, 1987, 1982, 1972); Biennale Sao Paulo (1989); Venice Biennale (1978); and Skulptur Projekte Münster (1977), among others. The artist lives and works in Cologne, Germany and Clonegal, Ireland.
JAVIER TÉLLEZ
Javier Téllez (b. 1969, Valencia) has been the subject of solo exhibitions at Kunsthaus Zürich (2014); Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst, Ghent (2013); Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland (2011); Bronx Museum of the Arts, New York (2005); and Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil, Mexico City (2004). He has participated in group exhibitions at P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, New York; Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam; Museo de Bellas Artes, Caracas; Castello di Rivoli, Torino; Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie, Karlsruhe, Germany; Museum of Fine Arts Houston; and Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, as well as in Documenta, Kassel, Germany (2012); Manifesta, Trento, Italy; Sydney Biennial; and Whitney Biennial, New York (all 2008); Venice Biennale (2001 and 2003); and Yokohama Triennial (2001). Téllez studied at Arturo Michelena School of Fine Arts, Venezuela, and also participated in the Gasworks Studio Program, London (1999); Whitney Independent Study Program (1997); and P.S.1 International Studio Program (1993). He received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1999. The artist lives and works in New York and Berlin.
