Nicole Miller’s To the Stars premieres at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art this week.
Commissioned by SFMOMA and designed specifically for the museum’s Phyllis Wattis Theater, this new work combines video and sound elements with a dynamic laser-light display. Filmed interviews and performances feature students in San Francisco schools as well as local figures in the arts and sciences, including choreographer Alonzo King, opera singer J’Nai Bridges, violinist Jessica McJunkins, and NASA astronaut Dr. Yvonne Cagle.
Public screenings will be held on September 22 and 24. More details can be found here and watch the trailer here.
