Maria Hassabi at Pulitzer Arts Foundation

This weekend, Maria Hassabi will debut TOGETHER (2019) at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation in St. Louis, MO. Her newest work, commissioned by The Pulitzer, responds to both the architecture of the museum and the exhibition Striking Power: Iconoclasm in Ancient Egypt.

In the words of the Pulitzer Arts Foundation: “Hassabi has created a choreographic practice that concentrates on slowness, stillness, and the space between bodies in motion. Transposing the languages and strategies of dance into the spaces of contemporary and historic art, she decelerates movement until it evokes sculpture and image, testing conventional rhythms of viewership in the process.”

The performance will take place between the hours of 10AM-8PM on Friday, April 5 and from 10AM-5PM on Saturday, April 6.
